both of the gothic- blues, gloom band Lone
Vein, as well as multi-instumentalist
Robert Aaron added their magic to this international
effort. Engineer David Strahl tracked additional
guitars, backing vocals, keys, percussion and saxophone here
at Candy Ear.Initial tracking took place in a studio in Hi Fi

Lone Vein has finished tracking their second CD. Guests include
drummer, Willy Martinez, and trombonist, Walter Hawkes of the
Willy Martinez Sextet. Also lending their talents are bassist,
Jon Martinez, percussionist, Patrick Moore, and keybordist,
Robert Aaron. Robert is a multi-instrumentalist and member of
Wyclef Jean's group. The music is a psychedelic dose of dementia
and razor sharp rock and roll. Look for more news about it's
release soon.

Look for Roberto Pitre's new CD soon to be released on our very own Candy Ear Label in the fall. Roberto is joined by a circle of fabulous instrumentalists delivering an exciting program of music. From a sultry "Cry Me A River" sung by Cote de Pablo to some seering original "Tambo Jazz"; music that blends Panamanian folk music with modern jazz and latin rhythms. Cote de Pablo is a very gifted singer who recently performed in the Broadway production of The Mambo Kings. Roberto also reinterprets the jazz standards "Take the A Train" and "Night In Tunisia". The CD will be available here soon. We'll keep you posted about future Candy Ear releases.

Marc Vincent is working on a long overdue solo CD with engineer and producer David Strahl. Marc will be joined by drummer Eldon Simms who performs with Aretha Franklin. The CD will surely be an eclectic mix of material featuring Marc on guitar, keys and bass.

George Elliott is putting the finishing touches on his soon to be released offering, "I'm Temporarily Working for Eternity". Over the years George and engineer David Strahl have worked on several CD's together. The latest features more of a band sound than is heard on GE's previous recordings. George has employed some talented players to fill out the patented Elliott "Heliocentric" sound.

Aline has recorded a stunning 3 song demo with the help of producers Eddie Lately and David Strahl. Eddie added some very fluid guitar playing to the session. Drum sequencing was provided by Aline's brother.

The new CD from "the Bonnie and Clyde of the Other Side", Lone Vein, was completed this spring. The CD entitled "NY Blues" is a blistering and buoyant ride. Sometimes bluesy and sometimes cabaret but always entertaining. Lone Vein hails from North Carolina by way of New Jersey. The band offers up an interesting blend of flavors creating their own "gumbo of rock and roll."

May 8th marks the start of the Tribeca Film Festival. David Strahl has lent his talents as music supervisor to the film, "Ghostlight," premiering on Thursday night. " Ghostlight" marks Chris Herrmann's directing debut. The film is based on choreographer Martha Graham's life and features music by John Califra, Ric Jenny and Tom Oliver, who are all Candy Ear

clients. Members of the MarthaGraham Dance Company are also featured in the film, as well as performances by Richard Move, Ann Magnuson, Debbie Harry and Isaac Mizrahi.

Singer-songwriter Mike Wenzel and producer David Strahl have just completed three songs for Mike's soon to be released CD. Tony Shanahan of the Patti Smith Group and Richard Pagano of The Fab Faux are the ironclad rhythm section on these tracks. Roberto Pitre, George Elliott and Eddie Martinez of Lone Vein have also added their talents to this eclectic project. The songs feature powerful lyrics that address today's political and economic climate.

Guitarist and songwriter Mike Sciallis and his brother, producer Gabe Sciallis of Runaway Suns, are working on Mike's new EP. This young and talented musical team play all the instruments on the CD, featuring tunes penned by Mike. Gabe is busy putting the finishing touches on the Runaway Suns CD as well. Does he sleep?

Tom Brazelle, vocalist and songwriter from the British band Archive, and producer Ted Mason, one of the original members of the group Modern English, were in the studio tracking new material for Tom's first solo project. Brazelle has a lovely, bittersweet voice worthy of attention.

The band Meanwhile completed their newest CD entitled Back At The Hall of Justice with David Strahl and assistant Gabe Sciallis behind the desk. The four piece band serves up a nice mix of vocal harmonies and hard edged rock and roll.

Chris Ruggiero returned to Candy Ear this month tracking his own band for an, as yet, untitled project. Chris is a very talented producer and multi-instrumentalist playing guitar and writing for this session. He will be mixing it himself in his home studio. Chris brought "Touchdown!" into Candy Ear last year. They're self- titled record, that's right, LP will be available on Troubleman Unlimited Records.

We have a full midi setup for film scoring. Equipment includes Kurzweil, Korg, E-mu, Akai and Roland. This can also be combined in a full live session in our spacious live room.
The Quadsound are recording their long awaited debut. This New York based quartet (naturally) is planning some local shows so come see this fine rock and roll band. They site Syd Barrett, The Who and Screaming Trees as amoung their major influences.
Producer, Chris Ruggiero was in our studio recording Touchdown for future Kay Records and Trouble Man releases. The band is a duet consisting of Emily Powers on electric 5 string bass and Nate Smith on drums. For a duet they pack a lot of punch. The music is a very intense blend of tight rhythms and outside tone explorations.

For those of you lucky enough to get a ticket to the Tibet House benefit, you would have seen a very gifted guitarist in a rare solo performance following
David Bowie onstage at Carnegie Hall. The guitarist's name is Jackson Smith and he was in town recording in our studio. Joining him on this project was J.D. Daugherty and Tony Shanahan, both from the Patti Smith Group.

Showtime is 6:30. They are an exciting rock and roll band with a bit of a British (the Who, Yardbirds) influence. It's gonna be exciting.
